What Would You Have Me Do?
I've come to realize that the deeper you go, the more conscious you become—not of what you want to say or suggest, but of what He wants, and what He is saying. Your desire shifts from speaking to listening. It reminds me of the prophet Habakkuk, who said:
"I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me..." (Habakkuk 2:1 — KJV)
And trust me, when you meet HIM, you won’t be able to say a word.
The glory…
The splendor…
Not to mention the sheer power that floods the atmosphere when He steps in.
At that moment, all you can do is be lost in adoration.
Words will fail you utterly!
No vocabulary, no language, no utterance can capture it.
Like John who saw Him and wrote: "...I fell at His feet as though dead." (Revelation 1:17)
That’s what happens in the presence of the Holy One.
You adore…
and adore…
and adore…
You won’t even be conscious of yourself, your thoughts, your desires, and your needs. They all fade.
Because in that moment, the greatest privilege… is to hear Him.
You can only listen.
You want to listen.
Because when He speaks, it’s everything.
Take Apostle Paul for instance. When he was still Saul, on his way to Damascus, he had an encounter with this very same Lord. That moment changed everything. And the first thing he said was:
“Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?”
—Acts 9:6 (KJV)
That question has become my contemplation for some time now. I believe it's the question we should all be asking.
We often forget: He wasn’t created for us. We were created for Him.
He doesn’t live to fulfill our desires. We live to fulfill His.
Our purpose is to do His will, to want what He wants, and to live for what pleases Him.
We were created for Him.
The deeper you go, the more you desire what He desires for you. And the more you begin to understand that He truly knows what's best.
He didn’t spare His own Son from death for you. Would anything else be too good for Him to give you?
Think about that...
As it’s written:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV)
There is so much we don’t know. So much we can’t see. But the biggest lesson in this new life is trust. Learning to trust that His ways are higher, His plans are better, and His timing is perfect.
So, learn to go before Him not to speak, but to hear.
Don’t always carry your own plans and desires into His presence.
Come with an open heart, ready to receive. Because truly, we have very little to give, but He has everything to offer.
“I will stand upon my watch... and see what He will say unto me...”
...What Would You Have Me Do?
Reading this caused me to notice just how flawed my mindset is. Somehow it's like I've forgotten who calls the shots. The audacity !😂🤦♂️ thank you
